MASSIVE EARTHQUAKE STRIKES CHILE

A devastating earthquake hit on Saturday 27 February at 3:34 am (1:34 ET) on the coast of Chile, killing 221 people so far, according to official government figures. At least they would have been half a million families affected by the earthquake which had an intensity of 8.8 º.

This earthquake has seriously affected the infrastructure of various regions of the South American country.

"We are asking everyone to stay calm, to be patient," Chilean President Michelle Bachelet told reporters after inspecting some of the damaged areas. "We assure everyone that emergency crews are working to resolve these issues."

Bachelet declared areas of catastrophe, similar to a state of emergency, which will allow her to rush in aid. She said the town of Chillan -- which was destroyed by a killer quake in 1939 -- was one of the worst affected.

KIERKEGAARD'S ANGUISH

Over the centuries much has been written about the anguish; philosophers and thinkers have described the importance of this feeling differentiating of fear and despair.
In my opinion the anguish is human feeling that is positive so is meaning to words like "eternity", "existence" and "The nothing".
When human beings are capable of making sense of those words means that it has entered a higher level of thinking with respect to the common man.
It is at this level of independent thinking where anguish is positive because it allows us to analyze, understand, visualize our own existence, plus it allows the man (or woman) to be truly aware of their freedom, their actions and their consequences.
In that sense, we can understand the thinking of Kierkegaard who raised the "anguish" in the ethical stage distinct from the aesthetic stage. For the common man clinging to the stage aesthetic world of the senses, anguish is unproductive fear triggers in despair.
And that's because his fate is traced and is not able to do anything because this seduced by the sensual. Instead the ethical man is capable of searching through the knowledge, seeks to control his mind in pursuit of a high-level thinking that gives reason for his existence.
Anguish is a sign that man has the eternal in itself. Without the 'eternal' would not have "anguish". But the man who has felt the anguish within himself and stubbornly persists in having a presence in the area sensual, end in despair.
However, the situation can be given that when the man through the call of desperation felt the inefficiency of their aesthetic sphere in relation to life as a sensual pleasure and joy representation; suddenly lights up and makes the decision to no longer stay there; is that moment when he is mature enough to choose “something else” and is there when he is ready to enter the ethical stage.
Kierkegaard, understood the anguish, not as the fear of living beings about the fear of death, but more than that the discovery of "The nothing".
Kierkegaard shows how anguish is related to the true constitution of subjectivity, warning of the danger of losing their identity by the desire to make absolute the "I" and "self".
For him (Kierkegaard) anguish goes beyond a simple mood to become a fundamental and decisive experience in human life. The anguish is related to sin and freedom.
Engendered by nothing, fueled by impatience, emerged as "reality of freedom as possible," anguish is "the dizziness of freedom" and at the same time a means of salvation that leads to faith and truth seeking of ultimate meaning to existence. ´
Kierkegaard understood the desperation as a deadly disease and identifies it with sin, whose faith is the antidote.
Already the “anguish” is understood as the feeling that accompanies all human decisions
Based on the thought of Kierkegaard, Heidegger claimed that there is for the "Dasein" (being in itself) a permanent possibility of to deal with "nothing" and discover it as a phenomenon.. That would be “anguish”. The way we would face "The nothing", the cure of such non-being is “anguish”.
The ability to continue to exist facing “The nothing” is what it would be given by the anguish. Jean Paul Sartre for his part identifies “anguish” as the most important feeling, to the point where he declares that “man is anguish”.
Sartre distinguishes anguish from fear. Fear appears before a specific risk and relates to the alleged injury or damage that reality can inflict, the fear is for no specific reason or any external object, it is fear of oneself, of our decisions, the consequences of our decisions.
It is the emotion or feeling that comes with the consciousness of freedom: to realize our freedom that we realize who we are and what we will be dependent on ourselves, that we are responsible for ourselves and we have no excuses , anguish appears to feel radicals responsible for our own existence.
But beyond that Sartre stressed that this awareness of responsibility increases when we realize that our choice not only concerns the purely individual but also in relation to our social environment.
To conclude this post let's say the true value of the anguish is understandable when one overcomes the aesthetic stage, while still clinging to sensuality and all that the senses give us, the anguish is only despair.
Ethics is at the stage when “The anguish” may have value, “Existence” and “Nothingness” already have meaning for humans.
So far Kierkegaard, is great, and indeed the other concepts about the “anguish” of other thinkers have their foundation in the established by Kierkegaard.
And though Kierkegaard had a tendency to become too attached to his religious temperament, making him lose some objectivity in its concepts, did not mean that their original ideas lose lucidity. In addition, his religiosity was understandable if we look at the context of what was his life.

DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI

A catastrophe has caused the earthquake on Tuesday in Haiti, with incalculable damage, thousands of dead and wounded, many of them still in rubble.
The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.0 Richter, occurred on Tuesday afternoon and was centered about 22 miles west of Port au Prince, according to the U.S. Geological Service.
It requires the support and solidarity of all countries, transnational corporations, institutions. Our brothers in Haiti required more than ever, our material support.
Haiti is the poorest country in Latin America, with 67% of the population living below the poverty line, also a country social and political upheavals causing this catastrophe has a greater impact than it would in any other nation in Latin America.

FALSE DEMOCRACY

Sometime in my blog I wrote about democracy, about the fact that it is the least bad of all political systems to govern, at least in Democracy and elections are the same people elect their leader is good or bad. However this there is something in the present democracy that particularly disgusts me is that democracy agreed that justifies evil and unjust in the name of good. Truth, falsehood and hypocrisy so unworthy.
For example, here in Latin America, you can see the political analysts who are false prophets of democracy, as Mr. Openheimer, Vargas Llosa (son), journalists from CNN, etc.. Those who fill their mouths constantly talking about democracy, and yet they have seen as irrelevant the fact, the unprecedented coup that occurred in Honduras against President Manuel Zelaya.
You know the double mask that has the United States, on the one hand condemning the coup and on the other hand, being more critical of Zelaya that coup Micheletti and his friends who were not elected to govern.
This power group democracy is a , democracy, is used as a pretext to Hugo Chavez on all internal and external threats that are the responsibility of each State, headed by political democracy always more concerned with promoting the economic interests oligarchs that population.
United States as the world power, is the country that should represent the most genuine example of democracy but that democracy can not ignore or look through the corner of my eye all the "atrocities" or "excesses" committed in the Middle East and simply attributed to unfortunate side effects of the war. Air-raiding villages and killing people is not democratic. Do you?
And who is able to defy the United States? Does France perhaps? just a little, and the other rulers of countries that boast of being the first world just happen to be bootlicking of Uncle Sam.
Who dares to ask tough sanctions to the U.S. for all deaths under the pretext of the nuclear weapons were never found in Iraq?. What happens with these deaths? Who is responsible for those lives? - Say who - for you is the question analysts 'democratic' - Does that go unpunished forever?
Of course there to capture the terrorists, anyone with a sane mind can accept the evil of these fundamentalist criminals, but there are others who call themselves defenders of good and also have murdered innocents in the name of World Peace. The brave would someone even dares to raise it, that is to punish the genocide who gave the order to bomb defenseless people.
What I am saying that in principle may sound anti-American, is in fact nothing more than an expression of disappointment.
United States of America has always seemed like a great country, mainly in the sense of promoting the freer form the ideals of Justice and Human Rights, that is why I am shocked that the government of that country can freely decide to send his army warlike act no matter or face the consequences of such acts.
Who will stop the U.S? France is apparently the only nation on its ideological legacy that has the moral capacity to prevent the American country to do what he pleases whenever and wherever.
But France is not enough to prevent the United States to do what he pleases, it requires leaders of developed countries that are more courageous and less proud, intelligent leaders who put their pants to demand justice when required .

1.-No person in the world that is more wonderful than you, your mind, your body, your skin, everything about you is unique, nobody can not feel well, only you, forget about the social parameters, rather each party cares your physical and mental being.
2.-Seeks knowledge, learn from every experience and every thing that happens in your life, not wasting energy on denying or curse rather use it in pursuit of wisdom. This will become your standard wider pace with your confidence and be able to deal with situations and circumstances with a variety of resources.
3.-Respect everyone, but always preserves your independence of mind, your individuality is valuable as not falling into egotism and vanity. The mindset and the rules of society are shared while not affecting your self-esteem.
4.-Your self-esteem always on top, for you are the best and believe it firmly, but remember something, do not say or try to prove to anyone. Never compare yourself to anyone. You're a smart person, you know that every person is different.
5.-You can achieve anything your mind has conceived, and nobody has ever made, think you can be the first. You rejects the ideas of the "scare-dreams" that fail objectives and only watch and criticize.

Individual Consciousness

Individual consciousness is real freedom, the collective consciousness is the limiting; confuse whoever is going to say that Leave a group would a lack of solidarity, but it is not, the individual human being is a person of good faith, is better prepared to help that another who always likes to live group and conditioned by the impressionability and sensitivity of the social environment.
The individual human being as it is, is more invulnerable therefore is less exposed for its tolerance of adverse feelings own collective minds such as vanity, selfishness and hypocrisy.
Do not confuse a guy who knows an individual with one of those egotistical, vain, segregationist, who feel different, who call themselves "individual" because they think they are of a different class in society, but not to succumb to a process self-improvement, but for reasons banal. Who can not live their now, or make plans to contribute ideas in society, those living only for themselves, is a mistake to call individual these poor people, indeed it is a mistake blunder say that they are free; egotistical people who do not know what is support and solidarity to others; who simply do not care who live more profits to those lack only the tail to be donkeys.
We must repeat again and again, true freedom can not start if no individuality, the individual human being is based on ideals and they may even seem chimeras constructed forms of expression beyond the mediocracy.
Individual consciousness breaks the mold, stereotypical, because it is bold, brings new and fresh in your mind conceives the common social objectives that may seem impossible dreams. A man or a woman with a healthy individual consciousness is a being truly free.

Hugo Chávez is preparing for war "ensure peace"

After warning the governments of Colombia and the United States that Venezuelans are "ready for anything," the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, called yesterday for his country's military and civilians who support them prepare for war.

The explosions of two car bombs that were aimed at government buildings on Sunday left 132 dead and 500 wounded in central Baghdad in the deadliest attack occurred this year in the Iraqi capital.
Two powerful explosions rocked buildings and columns of smoke rose in the capital, near the Tigris River.
The first car bomb had targeted the Ministry of Justice and the second, which exploded minutes later, was addressed to a provincial government building in Baghdad, police said.
The office of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said the attack was intended to generate chaos in Iraq, like the attacks of 19 August against the ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs as well as disrupt the parliamentary elections in January.
"These are the same black hands (the attack on 19 August) which are covered with the blood of Iraqi people," said the statement from the office of prime minister.
"They want to cause chaos in the nation, to hinder the political process and avoid the parliamentary election," he added.
The U.S. president, Barack Obama, said the attacks were unacceptable and the White House said the president had called Maliki and Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, to undertake "remained with the Iraqis."
"These bombings not serve any other purpose than to kill men, women and innocent children, and only reveal the hatred and destructive agenda of those who would deny the Iraqi people the future they deserve," Obama said in a statement.

ECOLOGICAL DISASTER IN PUERTO RICO

Several explosions of unknown origin in 11 tanks at the refinery of the company resulted Caribbean Petroleum Corporation in early yesterday morning near San Juan a great fire that threatens to cause one of the worst environmental disasters on the island. The smoke forced air traffic away.
The uncontrolled fire spread to another of the 14 tanks burning in the morning, and there are fears that others could reach the total of 40 of the refinery.
Authorities said at the time the event had a dozen employees working at facilities of the refinery, located in the municipality of Bayamon, adjacent to San Juan. None of the workers suffered injuries.
The injured were two people from surrounding areas, one of them a woman driving in a vehicle.
The blast also caused damage in a commercial area located three miles from the area and the International Trade Center, near the area of the disaster.
Puerto Rican authorities are investigating the possibility that the fire could be a sabotage and it is based on the discovery of a mysterious symbol on a graffiti that appeared in the San Juan metropolitan area.

One of the books I reread constantly is “EL TRATADO DE MELQUISEDEC” by Alain Houel. In one chapter, Houel concerns how to make the Providence with us in achieving our dreams.
The providence is nothing that the forces of the universe by providing everything needed for the treasure that we have chosen. The treasure is the main objective that we must achieve, it is the good excuse to take a road that is a process full of experiences and discoveries that is really what will give us the light of our reason for being and happiness.
That such an providence will appear in our lives when we've shown that we are "ready" is the prize when the conviction to achieve our dreams is something irreversible.

Houel says:
There is one condition to be able to take advantage of all the aid that the universe sends you: is that inevitably involve you in your quest.
Involved inevitably means creating an irreversible situation. If it is not irreversible, you can always return to your previous state. A portion of your energy pulls you forward toward your vision, while another part you pull back.
Once you've taken the step, definitely in your bet, having abandoned all possibility of return, Providence will accompany you. Many times you've been told that Providence will come to your aid. But what is Providence, and how to help?
The first truth of the matter is that by creating an illusory vision of your current situation, you make up a disgusting problem. While this view if you want more than anything else, your current situation becomes unbearable.
The good news is that this distance between your reality and your dream causes a tension in you that will boost your energy and creativity beyond everything you could imagine. Because of this disagreement, this spread, you'll find resources that otherwise had not even alleged.
This Providence, you who make it, so you'll know to stay in a state of "misconduct" towards what is the purpose of your existence.
There is another manifestation of Providence that is more mysterious. It is, for example, a person who does not have a penny to finance the trip that dreams and finds a boatload of silver coins buried in his garden.

Last Chemo day. And wouldn’t you know, I’m gonna miss Chemo Daycare.

‘Hello There

Welcome to Chemo Daycare’

You can get used to anything. Adaptable buggers we are. And I will miss the pager. When you check into the Chemo Club House, if you’re in the know, you can lean over the counter and make a secret gesture, like you are about to open your kimono and they hand you ‘the pager’.

It’s long and vibrates in a most alarming way. If you’ve got the pager, you’ve got free range of the entire hospital grounds. So you can wander to the atrium to snack along to the noon time concert, go down and mess with them at pharmacy by trying to sell back your steroids at a discount, or pinch a labcoat and do a bone marrow biopsy or two.

And then the pager would begin to vibrate. Stridently. And I’d meander back to be admitted into the Clubhouse. Pastel walls and warm blankets. Last few times, I brought my scrabble board. If I could, I’d crack open some red wine and invite the nurses to, you know, play a board game, cause they feel like the kind of family you want around.

Tempted?

Today I will ring the bell.

There’s a bell by the door. You ring it once you’ve completed your cycles of chemo, once the requisite amount of toxicity has dripped into your vein.

A chance for renewal. This bell, its sound a moving of molecules against each other. To remind us we are like these particles, membranes touching but at our core, alone.

I’ve cried when others ran the bell. I don’t know how I’ll feel today.

But I’ve become a participant in my life again.

Yup, things are looking up since I came down from the roof.

I”m deflating: the wetsuit is rolling off mamma! And I’ve stopped leaking yellow.

Food is no longer the centre of my universe. I haven’t had a pepperette in days. I”ve started picking up the phone, combing my hair and speaking to real, live people instead of my inner tea party of one.

And I regret I can’t take all the credit for the whining of the last post. I’d like to share the statuette with my fabulous writing partner, Decadron. Doesn’t she look chic tonight? (say yes or she’ll take your eyes out)

After my last blog, I let my body take the lead. I watched, fascinated, as my body dressed itself, pulled on snow leopard printed socks and picked up my car keys. It was a body intervention. All done without the cooperation of my brain. It needed to be done.

My body presented itself in front of my friend Ronica’s home. Inside there was warmth and quail. It was after, all Thanksgiving. Ronica was slightly startled to see me I’d sounded so blue in the morning when we spoke. But at Ronnie’s gatherings the people and food are variously textured and arrange themselves in surprising new ways. The evening began with Sang’s entrance, proclaiming from Rilke. Cut to Imali and myself taking an experimental attitude towards whipped cream. It ended up everywhere except on the pie. I tipped my moonface back and took the spout into my mouth.

‘That stuff is toxic, Lisa. So bad for you’

I paused in mid-spray.

‘What’s gonna happen Jules? I”m gonna get, THE CANCER?!’

Eyes widen. Pause in mid-breath.

Then,

Collapse with wild, loony bun laughter.

And then I had wine.

sometimes let your body lead. The body knows where it want to go.

So between the wine and whipped cream, I felt I had found the cure. For chemo brain if not for MM. You just gotta get unknit.

I didn’t have a clear reason to be blue last week. My last chemo treatment is today. I have a ‘port’ which means I don’t get poked anymore. I also like my port now. You can’t tell it’s there unless I want to display it. Makes it kind of kinky. Cause it’s buried below my right shoulder just above my boob. Gives me an excuse to flash all the time.

Bobcat digs it too. Since the steristrips have fallen.

I even have a card. I carry it with my credit cards.

I’m not a patient.

There’s an entire port culture. It’s like a subtribe of the Cancer Club. Nurse Gilda at PMH does it with a sweetness at odds with the term:

Sindi and I also got thinking about the influence of metaphor in how we approach cancer. How we cope with the things we fear by declaring war on them. How we don’t want to be defined as cancer ’survivors’. I don’t know how I wish to be defined but I’d rather chance on it myself. I’ve taken Susan Sontag’s ‘Illness as Metaphor’ from the parents of Perfect Propaganda Baby, David and Suzanne. It may give me a clue why this war metaphor unknits me.

After all, where’s the enemy?

It’s me.

I’m thinking about losing my hair. It’s gonna happen during the stem cell transplant. I have shaved my head before. This time it’s different. I may grieve for my loss of choice. Or I may not.

And Suzanne’s ‘Propaganda Baby’ Jackson got me thinking about freezing my eggs. Leaving frozen bags of my essence in steel containers across the city.

I’m thinking about stem and marrow. Protein on the surface of white blood cells. A new geography to explore. A new land to read symbols in the sand.

I”m thinking about onematch.ca the stem cell and marrow donation network. Shamim and Hanan want to register when they arrive in Toronto on the weekend. They are generously bringing their veins along with seven spices and Tord Boontje chandilers.

I’m thinking about Warner and his journey. He’s just ahead of me on the MM belt. He’ll be walking on Sunday too. His friend thought of name for his team but he went with another.

A SUICIDE BOMBER ATTACK IN PAKISTAN

At least 41 people have been killed in a suspected suicide car bombing in Pakistan's Swat valley, officials say.
The attack took place in Pakistan's Shangla district, near the Swat valley in North West Frontier Province. According to witnesses, the bomber walked up to a military vehicle and triggered the detonator. Among those killed four soldiers.
According to official sources, the Taliban terrorists have claimed responsibility for the attack. In the area have stepped up attacks after last Saturday was the target of the Taliban military headquarters in Rawalpindi in Punjab province (east). Twenty people were killed.

When you have a philosophical mind will seek care and everything you say and do and think, and will try to anticipate things that might happen.
The philosophy of mind means to have principles, values, virtues, man or woman who wants to assimilate knowledge must handle well the concepts of empathy, solidarity and mental focus. A philosophical mind is capable of putting yourself in the other and provide others with their wisdom as far as possible.

How complicated for many scientists is to understand that there is a spiritual world that goes beyond the rational, such a world, of course, can not be understood through the senses.
Personally I do not accept the view of many scientists hyper-closed-minded they are about older men who have no way to rationally explain what is the soul or aura, or any supernatural occurrence, and therefore simply deny there is anything that they can not understand, but the fact that they can not explain "something" does not mean that this event or phenomenon does not exist. To believe or not spiritual or God is something each person must discover for itself.
There are no absolute truths than intolerant people who clings to science in a way so tight that it leaves no open field for other knowledge.
Science is a valuable tool, it has always been and it is, but by no means consider it a panacea or magic elixir to cure all our ignorance, evil and stupidity that has dominated mankind throughout the centuries.
The more closed-minded scientists think that God does not exist and is respected that view, the problem is when trying to create an insurmountable barrier between science and faith, antagonism that should not exist; proof that science and faith can be compatible is in studies of respectable doctors and scientists who believe in God and paranomal, an example is Brian Weiss.
A well known argument to attack the faith, is the performance of the Catholic religion as coming at least in recent times and that has a long history of atrocities and abuses that have been made in God's name.
Scientists also deny the faith or "paranormal" take advantage of that the immense number of charlatans who seek to wash people's brains to their personal interests; for these closed-minded scientists, those are good excuses to discredit those who believe that there is a world beyond the rational.
Scientists must feel very frustrated by not being able to create a device that never see or measure the soul, is that this is a utopia, the soul exists but can not measure, is immeasurable, is a substance that everything we know exists but we can not be identified by the senses which are so attached to the scientists, but there is the soul in all its splendor is real, we can perceive and feel.
The spiritual or supernatural world is real, the proof is that the soul exists. Not everything can measure, anyone can see or measure a thought? this element belongs to the world of the "invisible" or "Unmanifest" and has always been with us and with that thought is that we can understand, perceive and feel the connection of our mind with our soul.
Science says that the Universe originated from Bing Bang, this explosion is the moment of "nothingness" emerge all matter, ie the origin of the Universe. The matter so far, is a point of infinite density, which at one time "explodes" generating the expansion of matter in all directions and creating what we know as our Universe.
This theory can explain the origin of the universe, but that is not absolute, is only a laudable but insufficient attempt to learn about the great mystery of creation. Who can be sure that's the truth?
All scientists are respectable but remember we are talking about millions and millions of years and that is something unfathomable Universe, personally I think that theory is only a contribution and in regard to religion, the creation of the Universe by a God is not something from the rational that can be proved, in this direction would be valid doubt the existence of God, but recognize that proof of the existence of God is not a task that can be checked by exhaustive scientific method. Believing in God is a matter of faith that goes beyond rational analysis.
The knowledge of God in my opinion is when one ascends to a higher level of understanding, not talking about the ordinary person that is literally what it says the priest at Mass, I want to say that only God can be felt through a really independent mind that is the only one who can access knowledge beyond the rational, this happens when one develops the mind to a high level of understanding through mental focus, that way you can be able to feel the call of your own soul.
Close minded scientists, will never accept the existence of God because of pride invades, they believe they are the only ones who can uncover the absolute truths, but nobody can do that.
Do not forget that throughout history many groups of old scientists, accused of crazy to many more open-minded genius who made great discoveries for humanity.
These close-minded scientists, will lose forever the infinite knowledge that its main character is the "soul" and so will never believe that there is a spiritual world beyond the physical, for them there is only a tomb down the road, there is no hope for eternity.

This is not a criticism of the countless scientists who have made great discoveries and achievements in the medical fields, technological, social, etc.

It's just a warning so that there is an openness to the "immaterial knowledge" beyond what the senses perceive, a spiritual world that can no longer be denied by scientists blinded by their pride. The ego that many scientists have contributed nothing to humanity, they must start by accepting the limitations of science in terms of facts that can never be fully understood.

Let me be clear when I say that true security is something spiritual and not material. When we adopt the kind of security that has to do with inside knowledge, with the satisfaction of feeling valued, feeling with God as our inner guide,that's when we find real security
It is authentic because nobody and nothing is going to take, because we are spiritual beings, and in this area do not fit external susceptibilities.
It is true, however, that in today's world dominated by a "false security", is that spiritual beings have not, is a "security" that has to do with dependency.
This dependence may be due to different circumstances; physical appearance, wealth, social position, and also the experience. But however, physical appearance is the most false of all safely.
Many people, born and develops a trust that has not come from his heart, but a foreign concept as are the beauty parameters established by the society.
Parameters actually coming from the earliest times, may have been the Romans, perhaps the Egyptians, actually know who invented these parameters has no significance, so if you must highlight and remember is that these criteria were not established precisely for the sensible and intelligent people of humanity, but on the contrary, these stereotypes were created by the most unjust and stupid humans.
But there is all this information is our genetic inheritance and evil of the past. Then the person will focus as graceful or not, and its measurement on these parameters will refer to their level of confidence that will shape their self-esteem. When you have that confidence that is invulnerable to the passage of time, it is mentally independent, is free from restrictions on the mindset of the society, is a genuine freedom that leads to real security, so much so that even the challenge of death may seem encouraging.
